The YMCA of the Rockies Estes Park Center is located approximately 80 miles from Denver International Airport (DIA) and less than five miles outside of the town of Estes Park, CO.

Transportation Options

The simplest way to get to YMCA of the Rockies is to drive (Directions are shown below). If you prefer not to rent a vehicle and drive, there are some alternatives.

The first alternative is to take a shuttle from DIA. We are investigating the possibility of providing shuttle service on the two primary travel days (June 27 and July 2) and will post details closer to the conference if that option proves viable. You can book shuttle service directly through Estes Park Shuttle or you can use Estes Park Direct to arrange private charters/transportation packages. If booking a shuttle, verify the service is door-to-door to ensure you make it all the way to YMCA of the Rockies.

The second alternative is to use a rideshare service such as Lyft or Uber or hire a private car. This option is more expensive than a shuttle service but may prove economical if traveling in a small group.

The final option is public transportation via Bustang. Please note that the Bustang route originates at Denver’s Union Station, travels through several towns west of Denver, and stops at the Estes Park Visitor Center so you will need to arrange transportation between DIA and Union Station (e.g., via the A line) and from Estes Park to YMCA of the Rockies (via Lyft/Uber/taxi).

Driving Directions

We are providing directions and maps for two different routes from Denver International Airport (DIA). The first route, via E-470 N, I-25 N, and CO-66 W, is the most direct, but involves a toll-road. The total toll is approximately $13 when billed through the license plate number on your car. The second route, via I-76 W, US-36 W, and CO-66 W, is longer, but free. It is also more subject to traffic. There is also an intermediary option combining E-470 N and US-36 W or, if you have time to kill and want to take in some scenery, you could consider the Peak-to-Peak Scenic Byway.

Directions Via E-470 (Toll Road)

  1. Drive West on Peña Blvd. This is the main road leaving the airport.
  2. Take exit 6B for E-470 N towards Boulder/Fort Collins. After ~ 1 mile, this merges onto the toll road. Follow this for another ~ 16 miles.
  3. Take exit 47 to merge onto I-25 N towards Fort Collins. Follow this for another ~ 15 miles.
  4. Take exit 243 for CO-66 W toward Longmont/Lyons. After 0.3 miles, turn left onto CO-66 (signs for Longmont/Lyones/Estes Park).
  5. After ~ 14 miles on CO-66, continue onto US-36 W to Estes Park. Take a slight left onto Main St then turn right onto US-36 W/5th Ave/W Main St.
  6. After ~ 19 miles, take the first traffic circle exit onto US-36/N St. Vrain Ave. Then turn left onto US-34 BUS W/US-36 W/E Elkhorn Ave. In ~ 0.4 miles, use the middle lane to turn left onto Moraine Ave then keep right to continue on US-36 W/Moraine Ave.
  7. After 1.4 miles, keep left to continue on CO-66. This becomes Tunnel Rd after 1.4 miles. Continue another 0.6 miles then turn right on Association Dr to enter YMCA of the Rockies. Follow signs/site map to desired lodge/building.

Directions Via I-76 (No Tolls)

  1. Drive West on Peña Blvd. This is the main road leaving the airport.
  2. Take exit 5 for Tower Road. Slight right to merge onto Tower Road. Stay on Tower Road for 2.4 miles.
  3. Turn left onto E 96th Ave. Follow for ~ 7 miles then at the traffic circle, take the third exit to stay on E 96th Ave for another 0.2 miles.
  4. At the traffic circle, take the 4th exit onto the I-76 W ramp and merge onto I-76 W. Follow for another ~ 4 miles.
  5. Keep left to continue onto US- 36 W.
  6. After ~ 36 miles, turn left to stay on US-36 W. Take a slight left onto Main St then turn right onto US-36 W/5th Ave/W Main St.
  7. After ~ 19 miles, take the first traffic circle exit onto US-36/N St. Vrain Ave. Then turn left onto US-34 BUS W/US-36 W/E Elkhorn Ave. In ~ 0.4 miles, use the middle lane to turn left onto Moraine Ave then keep right to continue on US-36 W/Moraine Ave.
